....Vanessa Ament has been performing onstage since she was five years old. Her first musical theatre production was “Annie”, where she played the youngest orphan. Since then, Vanessa has performed both singing, dancing and acting in over 60 productions in her hometown of Friday Harbor, Washington, Seattle, and San Francisco. In the summer of 2004, Vanessa sang “Amazing Grace” in Seattle’s first “Soul Gospel Idol” competition, where she won first place and the title.
....She is currently a senior at Cornish College of the Arts where she will be receiving her Bachelor of Music degree (Voice/Classical) in May, 2007. Vanessa will be giving her Senior recital at Cornish College in the PONCHO Concert Hall on March 9, 2007, at 8pm. This event is free and open to the public. Vanessa’s senior recital will consist of an hour of classical music, with particular emphasis on art songs by composers such as Schumann and Faure` as well as concert arias by Mozart and Schubert. In addition to this, Vanessa will be performing a few of her own compositions, for piano and voice, which can be described as folk/pop style music.
....Vanessa Ament is a member of The Esoterics, a prestigious a capella choir based in Seattle, Washington and directed by Eric Banks. Vanessa toured with The Esoterics in Finland, in September 2006.
....She will be playing the lead role of Dido in Cornish College’s Spring Opera production of “Dido and Aeneas,” presented by Cornish Music Series, on March 29th, 30th and 31st at 8pm.
....Vanessa is currently the Events Coordinator for the Music Department at Cornish College of the Arts. In addition to this, she has her own business in which she sings for weddings, funerals and parties/receptions.
....After graduating from Cornish College, Vanessa plans to pursue a career in Musical Theatre, Opera, teaching yoga and developing her education in spiritual and metaphysical practices such as the teachings of “A Course in Miracles.”
